The new shoes route SHIMANO RC3 and RC1, and XC3 and XC1 MTB shoes promise comfort and power transfer for those new to cycling.

Cycling shoes are typically the first piece of kit that identifies cyclists from those who simply cycle, making choosing the first pair of shoes an important step in unlocking one's cycling potential. That's why Shimano is now introducing entry-level shoes for cycling on route and the mountain bike with features and characteristics inherited from the high-end models.
The shoes Route
With their design, the first thing that strikes you is the resemblance of the RC300 and RC100 shoes to the look and features of the Shimano S-Phyre shoes. worn by many professionals on the World Tour.
Of course, emulating the look of a pro is one thing, but emulating the performance is another. To help in this regard, the RC3 features:
- a Boa L6 tightening centered on the shoe to allow the cyclist to find the ideal fit even while riding
- a wraparound upper, a single-piece midsole and a fiberglass-reinforced nylon sole to provide comfort
- A thin midsole provides superior stability and better control when speed increases
All these features come from Shimano's high-end models., which means the RC3 has some serious assets to show for it, such as comfort on long rides and optimal power transfer when you want to stomp on the pedal.

For its part, the RC1 is geared towards comfort above all with:
- a triple Velcro tightening to adjust to the shape of the foot
- breathable mesh to keep your feet in place without pressure points
- an outsole similar to the RC3 model, which provides power transfer when pedaling and comfort for walking with a stiffness of 6/12.
The RC1 therefore offers an excellent mix between ease of everyday use, comfort and good value for money.

Cross-Country shoes
The XC models feature the same DNA as the high-performance S-PHYRE MTB shoes, with a neat look and optimal power transfer.
The features of the XC300 model:
- a Boa L6 tightening for micro-adjustment even while riding
- a SHIMANO Dynalast shoe to reduce fatigue over long distances
- a thinner midsole to stabilize the foot and improve power transfer
- toe and heel protection, tough lugs so the XC3 can handle dirt, mud and whatever else comes its way.

- three Velcro straps to reduce pressure points while distributing the tightening
