At a time when many manufacturers have evolved their tire models, it is Veloflex's turn to revisit its range in order to satisfy cyclists regardless of their practice and expectations. Prime minister test of the new Corsa Evo TLR, after just over 1000 km on the routethe steep slopes of Isère.

Located in Presezzo in the province of Bergamo, like many manufacturers, Veloflex remains a small company with around ten employees. We are here in the craft industry with 100% handmade products and their primary goal is to offer exceptional products.
At a time when many companies pride themselves on offering tires with tests very good performance (low rolling resistance), Veloflex had to review its ranges and develop its rubber and get in line with the competition for tires. But we must not forget that the Italian company has long been known and remains a reference with casings offering a touch of route and truly exceptional comfort, so much so that many pro teams use their rebadged tubulars.
The new range consists of a racing tire and a tire for training or endurance. and above all they are now available in TLR version, or Tubeless Ready, that is to say a Tubeless which necessarily requires the addition of a preventive liquid to ensure its sealing.
It is this latest version that catches our attention. for the test, because it is THE big new thing since the offer is increasingly expanded with this technology.
So, those called open guts (open tubular), the name given to the tires with inner tube by Veloflex, remain in the range and use the same rubber, as do the tubulars (called Pro Tour) which use this technology.
Presentation of our products
The Pro Tour Race (tubular), Corsa Race TLR (Tubeless) and Corsa Evo Race (clincher) models offer a 350 TPI casing, they are light (respectively 285 g, 225 g and 200 g in 25 mm) and really intended for competition. They use, as now the whole range, the new rubber with SiO2 in order to guarantee the best grip properties, and benefit from the lowest possible rolling resistance. The tubulars are always provided with a latex chamber.
These three models are also available in a more typical version for daily training and endurance. with the Pro Tour / Corsa Evo and Corsa Evo TLR models.
It is this last model that we mounted on Black Inc. Fifty wheels., with an internal rim width of 17mm and an external rim width of 27mm. Once installed on the rim, we measured the Veloflex Corsa Evo TLR in 25mm to 24mm. After 1000km, we have not noticed any variation in width, but of course this remains to be verified over time.
The tire is easily mounted by hand, and all that remains is to snap it to ensure that it fits perfectly against the walls of the rim. A compressor is necessary, because trying to do it with a foot pump is not conclusive. Then it remains to put preventive liquid, mandatory here because this tire is what is called a TLR, or Tubeless Ready. We use 50 ml of No Flat's Joe, recommended by Veloflex, for this. After distributing the product well by rotating the wheel several times, and re-inflating it two or three times, the pressure holds perfectly. We see a pressure loss of only 0,5 bar in 24 hours.
All that's left is to roll
For the first outing, we put 6 bar, the low pressure recommended by the manufacturer for our 54 kg and this 25 mm section. Very quickly, we went down to 5,5 bar at the front and 5,8 at the rear in order to have maximum comfort. This is all the more interesting since in mytage Tubeless, we avoid any risk of pinching. This is really the point that immediately surprises you when fitting these tires: comfort!
Compared to the Continental GP 5000 and Hutchinson Fusion 5 tires we usually use, the cotton frame really brings a plus in terms of comfort and feeling of nervousness. In addition, the tubeless version increases this feeling of being on velvet and filters vibrations on routes in poor condition.
The grip is pretty good but we must admit that we did not push the tires to their limits at that level. route wet, by lowering the pressure by 0,5 bar and thanks to the new rubber, they offer good grip, unlike the old models of the brand which could sometimes be limited, but also compared to the GP5000 which did not always give us the necessary confidence in the wet.
After 1000 km, sometimes on very small routes in mytaghuh, we did not detect any cuts or experience any punctures, and the wear seems quite normal: non-existent at the front, and very slight at the back. This is a matter to follow for a future article.
The price of €46 is far from being out of the ordinary for this type of product.. Note that the Race version is barely more expensive (€49), but is probably a little less durable. We are currently won over by this Tubeless tire, which is attractive, easy to mount, comfortable and generally offers very good sensations on the route.

Bonjour.
Clearly, on Véloflex Corsa EVO TLR tires I also have the possibility of mounting them with inner tubes?
Thank you for your reply.
Kind regards.
Hello,
Yes of course.
