The Diamante is the flagship of the Basso brand, which since its introduction has represented all the know-how and brought together the innovations of the firm from San Zenone degli Ezzelini, an Italian commune in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region of Italy.. From the desire to create the fastest version of the Diamante was born the new Diamante SV for super fast. Every phase of the design of the various parts of the Diamante SV was carried out with the idea of shaping a bike that responds to this identity, " Super Fast ". The new Diamante SV aims, thanks to the improvements made by Basso Bikes, " Super Faster ", even faster than its predecessor.
With the desire to evolve its aero model, Basso has paid particular attention to multiple details to establish a perfect blend of the latest technologies and a new design on the Diamante SV.. By focusing on the complete design of the system (frame + components), Basso gives the new Diamante SV a better integration aimed at reinforcing aerodynamics. Thus the aero cockpit is just one example among others.
Aesthetic improvements but which mainly aim for a gain in terms of performance. The junction between the handlebar, stem and frame has been optimized to provide better unity and improved air penetration. The fork/tire/wheel part called OpenFlow offers wider spacing in order to create the formation of airflow disturbances and to promote aerodynamics. If all the parts of the frame have been scrupulously dissected, the development of aerodynamics has also been carried out on the painting. The Diamante SV benefits from " of a 3D structure with ceramic nanoparticles » which allow the paint to be less porous, more compact in order to make the surface more uniform and limit drag.
Aesthetics, ease of use and simplicity of use, safety, aerodynamics: all the parts and components are perfectly integrated into the frame in order to optimize the complete system as much as possible.. The Diamante SV features a new SV and internal cable routing: the cables are routed through the stem (with a clamping system called " Super Safe »). The spacers under the stem were developed with the same objective, to offer easy adjustment. The composite inserts of each spacer intend to provide a plus in terms of comfort thanks to the damping of vibrations.
Speed has been one of the keys in the development of this new Diamante SV, but with the aim for Basso engineers to shape a fast and agile bike whatever the surface and terrain. The new Diamante SV features up to 32mm of tire clearance for those who want to increase vibration damping and ride comfort. The fork design, designed to ensure good lateral stiffness without compromising responsiveness and ride quality, gives the Diamante SV its own geometry.
The latest version of the Diamante SV benefits from its design of tubes of different sections depending on the size of the frame, to adapt and meet the specific needs of a maximum number of cyclists.. So the carbon layup, tube shape and construction of Diamante SV vary depending on the size to ensure an identical riding feel and perfect experience.
Like all Basso bikes, the new Diamante SV aims to fit into the formula " designed for racing, made to last ». Manufactured one by one to guarantee the same driving sensations and performance as on the first day even after several seasons on the route, the Diamante SV is based on meticulous development that has allowed Basso to create an advanced paint that is more resistant and durable. The 3D structure of the ceramic nanoparticles would increase water repellency and reduce porosity, with a more resistant, more aerodynamic, cleaner and easier to clean paint.
« Make your fastest bike even faster " was a difficult task for Basso, but the adventure is presented as a great source of inspiration and motivation within the Italian factory. And Basso is delighted to have improved his best bike not only in terms of performance but also versatility.
The new Diamante SV is available in three colours, with a montage à la carte offered on the Basso Bikes website configurator. Six transmissions are available: Campagnolo Chorus 12V Disc, Shimano Ultegra Di2 Disc, SRAM Force AXS eTap, Campagnolo Super Record 12V Disc, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 Disc and Campagnolo Super Record 12V EPS Disc.
