Italian Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), who was crowned world time trial champion on September 25 in Imola, also won the first timed stage of the Giro, riding a custom bike. Here's a closer look at some of the striking details of this specific machine, including the monstrous gears used that day.

At the Imola World Championship, Filippo Ganna used a maximum gear ratio of 58/11. But during the first stage of the Giro, with a downhill section, it was a huge 60/11 which was mounted on the Italian champion's custom bike after his title, with an aerodynamic carbon chainring installed on a Shimano Dura-Ace crankset.
Like all Team Ineos Grenadiers bikes, Ganna's Pinarello Bolide is equipped witha Dura-Ace Di2 transmission, with rim brakes.
The Bolide frame kit is sold for €11, and the world champion's is size 55. Despite this, the seat post extension seems impressive for this tall 1,95 m build!
At the pilot's stationtage, it is abouta custom cast Most Talon in carbon and titanium, with angles and dimensions kept secret for the moment by the manufacturer and the members of the British team staff. To obtain such a complete custom handlebar, it is still necessary to count €13 000.
At the wheel level, and although normally equipped by Shimano, Team Ineos has chosen a Princeton Carbonworks front wheel, an American brand that offers this rim with "waves", probably studied in a wind tunnel and which must offer good stability with crosswind, as well as an atypical spoke crossing. It is a clincher wheel, equipped with a continental GP TT.
There are no markings on the lenticular rear wheel, which doesn't quite resemble the PRO Textreme Tubular Disc usually used by the team. The wheel also appears to be fitted with a Continental tyre.
An ultra-specific bike worth over €30.
