New range of Mavic wheels

French company Mavic presents its new range of wheels for the 2021 season, simplifying product naming and reviewing its prices.

After A difficult year 2020 for the Annecy-based company, Mavic focuses on a range of wheels route easier to understand for the consumer and with prices revised as precisely as possible. The aluminum rims are still produced in France in Ain, and the carbon wheels are entirely designed, testées and developed in Annecy. The brand also includes a lifetime warranty for carbon wheels from this 21 range, as well as a program of Crash Replacementst. Note that all the wheels in the range are entirely hand-assembled.

Simplified names

At Mavic, we distinguish between wheels with aluminum rims (now called Ksyrium for the entire range), and wheels with carbon rims (now called Cosmic for the entire range), available for disc braking or rim braking.

Then there are four range levels: S / SL / SLR / Ultimate. But also several rim heights for carbon wheels: 32 / 40 / 45 / 65.

The range still includes some models from previous years for the track (Io, Comete, Elipse Pro Carbon and Elipse), the Comete Road lenticular wheel for the route, the Ksyrium Pro as well as the entry-level aluminum wheels Cosmic Elite and Aksium.

Ksyrium range

The Ksyrium range begins with the Ksyrium S in rim brakes and disc brakes (1570/1670 g) at 400 €. Then we find the Ksyrium SL in rim brakes and disc brakes (1480/1575 g) at 650 €, with the same Instant Drive 360 hubs and Fore rim drilling principle, but with ISM 4D machining and elliptical spokes instead of flat spokes.
