Cédric Gosse elected President of the French Triathlon Federation

Representatives of the clubs of the French Triathlon Federation met on Saturday, December 12, 2020, by videoconference, to proceed with the election of the new Federal Board of Directors. who will officially take office on January 1, 2021This was the first election using a list ballot within the FFTRI.

Cédric Gosse, head of the victorious list, obtains the seat of President of the French Triathlon Federation for the 2021-2024 Olympiad, with 77,3% of the votes (85 votes out of 063 voters). He succeeds Philippe Lescure, who has been in office since 2001.

Cédric Gosse's first words:

« I sincerely thank the representatives of the clubs for their trust. It is with great emotion that I receive today with my team this victory in the election of our beautiful and young federation.

We have received a great deal of support and we will honour the trust that has been placed in us.

This victory is collective. Alongside me, on this list appeared 16 women and 16 men, reflecting the diversity of the territories and the triathlon.

It is therefore the victory of a team that invested in bringing a project to life.

I am very proud of this collective and I am parttagand this success with each and every one of them. We measure the full responsibility that falls upon us.

The trust placed in me is also a reflection of 25 years of commitment to triathlon and the sports movement. My conviction of being alongside and as close as possible to the actors on the ground, those who give life and meaning to our sport on a daily basis, is reinforced by the expression of this vote.

We must now show solidarity to emerge from the Coronavirus crisis and the federation will be active in supporting its clubs and organisers in these difficult times.

It will be time, from January 1, 2021, to implement what we have committed to for the next 4 years.

I would like to end with a few words for our president, Mr Philippe Lescure:

I believe in the power of transmission. I salute its commitment to gather and unite all the women and men of our federation in a desire for collective construction. This path that you have opened and drawn, Philippe, is made of meaning. It is traced, we take it with humility"
