After a successful first edition, the Col de la Loze by Brides-les-Bains cyclosportive returns on July 18, 2021. In order to meet the expectations of all types of cycling enthusiasts, several formats (100 km, 53 km and 30 km) will be offered with the additional possibility on the 53 and 30 km courses to participate in electrically assisted bicycles (EABs). All the more reason to come and admire the magnificent landscapes of the Vanoise and Savoie national parks.
The Col de la Loze, a route unique in the world
Access to the Col de la Loze is prohibited to cars and exclusively reserved for bicycles. From Brides-les-Bains, the climb to the pass crosses the Méribel resort to reach, after more than 22 km and a positive elevation gain of 1715m, the summit of La Saulire, the highest point and junction of the Méribel and Courchevel resorts.
Routes suitable for all levels and meeting all desires:
To make the most of the routes of the Vanoise Park and so that everyone feels comfortable on their race, three formats are offered to take part in this great cycling festival:
100 km
For the more seasoned, choose the large format 100 km by Col de la Loze with 3 m of positive elevation gain. It will take you from the climb of Frasses to that of Saint Laurent de la Côte before returning to the terrible finish of the Tour de France 716 at the top of the Col de la Loze via Méribel.
53 km
For slightly more cautious athletes, try the 50 km by Col de la Loze which extends over 53 km with a positive elevation gain of 2 m. Cross the routes of the Vanoise park before climbing to the top of the Col de la Loze, still passing through Méribel. The 53 km will be open to electric bikes this year, as will the 30 km, with a specific start reserved for female cyclists who wish to do so.
30 km
For lovers of beautiful walks in search of magnificent landscapes, set off on the 30 km by Col de la Loze with a positive elevation gain of 741 m through the routes of the Vanoise park. Discover the Frasses climb before heading to Bozel and returning to Brides-les-Bains to celebrate the cycling festival and enjoy the festivities offered to all participants.
Women in the spotlight with a new feature: a specific ladies' departure
In 53, the 2021km course will offer a start exclusively reserved for Ladies! Cycling is one of the sports that has seen the greatest growth in female sporting activity, with more than 17% of female participants and more than 10% of FFC members. Such a trend deserves to be highlighted and encouraged. For this reason, the 50km route offers an exclusive departure reserved for all women who practice cycling and electric bikes!
Justine Bailleul, an ambassador of choice
To embody its feminine commitment, Brides-les-Bains has chosen Justine Bailleul as patron of the event, who has made cycling her life's passion! Young and with an already full life, she has made her commitment a spark of dream that she maintains every day and transmits through her encounters. She has thus decided to invest herself to become an AURA ambassador as part of the Vivre Vélo au Féminin program of the FFC aimed at accelerating the development of women's practice. Justine will take the start of the women's peloton on the 50 km format by Brides-les-Bains to partagshare her passion with all of her sisters.
Warm-up and warm-up
The day before the cyclosportive events, start your preparation, warm up and tackle the timed climb of Pralognan-la-Vanoise from Brides-les-Bains, a 21,67km course with a positive elevation gain of 910m. Reduced rate for participants in the Col de la Loze by Brides-les-Bains event.

Brides-les-Bains, pilot town for hydrogen-powered electric vehicles
Two of the 3 routes (50km and 30km) of the Col de la Loze by Brides-les-Bains are available to electric bikes! The electrically assisted bicycle provides interesting solutions for those who want a gentle sporting activity while discovering a new, clean mode of transport.
Special feature 2021!
All spa guests present during the event will be able to take part in the 30km VAE race for free!
The spa resort of Brides-les-Bains has understood this well and is developing a fleet of electric bikes in order to effectively combat a sedentary lifestyle and facilitate the return to sport of its spa guests. This year, the leader in weight loss in France will accompany its spa treatments with a complementary physical activity, the electric bike! Always with everyone's health at heart, the city has decided to invest massively in the electric bike with the support of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region. It is an effective support for visitors in their quest for well-being and health.
