This new hose, equipped with a special inner tube, allows to benefit from a reduction in total weight of more than 10% while guaranteeing the same excellent characteristics grip, smoothness and reliability. A great asset for the World Tour teams partnering with Pirelli at the Giro d'Italia: BikeExchange (Simon Yates and Esteban Chaves), Trek-Segafredo (Nibali) and AG2R Citroën.
The P Zero Race Tub SL is the culmination of a project that has been the subject of more than two years of development. During their work on the first tubular, launched in 2018 with the Mitchelton-SCOTT team (now BikeExchange), Pirelli technicians received numerous requests and suggestions for modifications from professionals, including, and first of all, the weight reductionToday, in fact, athletes are required to race on high-performance bikes that do not always fit within the UCI weight limits.
Kevin Tabotta, Team BikeExchange Performance Director, said: "This new Pirelli tubular reduces the weight of the bike by almost 100g, a considerable improvement that is difficult to find in a high-level competition set-up (…) I am impressed by the tests that we did (…) The tires performed exactly as we expected but now they are lighter! The new Pirelli P ZERO RACE Tub SL, will be available soon at the price of 119,90 €.
