A look back at the Federal Cycle Tourism Week: a great and wonderful cycling celebration!

The International Federal Cycle Tourism Week, the biggest cycling event in France and Europe took place from July 25 to August 1 in Valognes (50), in the heart of the Cotentin. This year, it brought together nearly 6 000 participants came from 12 countries different for bytagIt’s a time of vacation, celebration and discovery of the Channel!

This event, since 1927, has become a tradition: French and foreign cycle tourists all converge on the host city to discover the charms and attractions of a territory by bike throughout the week! This 82e edition was an opportunity to discover the Valognes region and the Cotentin peninsula but also a time for meetings and reunions after two years of waiting! Full of history, from the Celts to the landing of June 6, 1944, architecture, culinary flavors, and especially bike trails, the city of Valognes and its region fit perfectly into the lineage of previous host cities.

This week entirely dedicated to cycling delighted everyone, from the youngest to the oldest! route, mountain biking, disabled outings, Cyclodécouvertes ®, supervised youth activities, long distance or VAE for almost 20% of participants, there was something for everyone in the Cotentin! In total, it's more than 1113 kilometers traveled by cyclists who chose the long routes and more than 370 for those who opted for the shorter ones.

This year again, Federal Week was a wonderful celebration of cycling!
