This year again, the AlpinBike Lac d'Annecy was the end-of-summer cyclosportive not to be missed! Starting from Saint-Jorioz (74), more than 800 cyclists gathered on the weekend of August 21 and 22 to enjoy the charms of Lake Annecy and the welcoming warmth of the Massif des Bauges. With a timed climb, a Gravel course and 3 cyclosportive courses accessible either in hiking mode or in timed mode, there was something for everyone!

A TERRIFIC WARM-UP

Traditionally, the first day of Saturday allows for the implementation of route the machine before the Sunday courses. For a second consecutive year, the organization focused on the Montée du Semnoz, a true symbol of the region. For the sixty participants at the start, the Montée du Semnoz was a formidable warm-up. With 24 km of non-stop climbing from the city center of Saint-Jorioz and more than 1250 m of D+ to swallow, it took courage and motivation to hang up your bib. Nevertheless, the view from the summit and the clear 360° panorama of the Alpine Massif quickly made the participants forget the pain and fatigue linked to the intense effort made. Let us salute the victory of Nicolas GUILLOT in 58m40s for the men and that of Jolien DEVRIESE in 1h29m10s for the women.

THE BAUGES, HEADS AND TAILS!

With such a playground, it was normal to discover the other side of the Bauges, even more natural and unusual! For the first time this year, the AlpinBike Lac d'Annecy was also Gravel with a support leg of the Gravel'Tour Cannondale. A pass at more than 1500 m, a panorama of some of the highest peaks of the Bauges and a good dose of local fauna and flora awaited our participants. It is on this committed course of 70 km and 1900 m of D+ that around fifty participants set offtagés. Let us congratulate Kévin BOSCARDIN for his victory in the men's category in 3h07m27s as well as Lise DARFEUILLE for her victory in the women's category in 4h14m46s.

A BAUJU SUNDAY!

Despite the departures given from the Esplanade de Saint-Jorioz under a threatening sky, the 700 participants of the second day of the AlpinBike Lac d'Annecy had the pleasure of finding in route rather mild weather. Only the 300 participants of the Semnoz Course (130 km | D+ 2850m) had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with the clouds on the first part of the course. After climbing to the Crêt de Chatillon, they went back down into the valley on the Pont de l'Abime and met up with the 300 participants of the Bauges Course (110 km | D+ 2020m) and stayed with them until the finish. Together, they were able to discover the routes hilly Massif des Bauges heading towards the Col de Plainpalais, Aillon-le Jeune, Chatelard and La Motte en Bauges. Between the Alpine peaks, local producers, pastures and mountain pastures, these two courses of the AlpinBike Lac d'Annecy highlighted a strong territorial identity. On these demanding routes leaving little room for rest, let us salute the victories of Rémi NICOLON (2h49m15) and Claire HOCHART (3h21m46s) on the Parcours des Bauges and those of Raphael ADDY (3h20m59) and Victoire JONCHERAY (4h29m14) on the Parcours du Semnoz.

For cyclists who did not want to challenge the clock, two routes were available in Rando Mode. The Tour du Chatelard (55km | D+ 1m) took the fifty hikers to the village of Chatelard via the famous Col de Leschaux. This undemanding route allowed them to discover the world of cyclosport gently, without pressure. For those who wanted to challenge themselves personally and cross the 150km mark, it was also possible to take part in the Parcours des Bauges (100km | D+ 110m) and experience a real stage of mytagne.
