First signed in 2020, Pirelli’s technical partnership with Trek-Segafredo has already yielded excellent results. In just two seasons of racing with Pirelli’s flagship P Zero tyre range, the team has won several important races. These include Milan-San Remo, the women’s Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the very recent women’s Paris-Roubaix, inaugurated this year for the first time, where tyre choice played a crucial role.

In 2022, the World Tour team will once again ride on Pirelli tyres and technical development will remain a central aspect of the collaboration. As part of the partnership, the Pirelli logo will feature prominently on the jerseys of both the men’s and women’s teams.

From racing to tires

Pirelli's racing matrix is a constant in all its forms, whether it's road cycling or route, mountain bike, motocross or Formula 1 tires. Technological evolution explains Pirelli's decision to be present in competitions, which represent a real open-air laboratory where products are developed and made available to cycling enthusiasts. In this context, the partnership with the athletes of the Trek-Segafredo team is fundamental, especially for the feedback it generates. For example, the P Zero Race TLR, Pirelli's first tubeless tire for road bikes, route, is the direct result of technical collaboration with the team.

In 2022, Trek-Segafredo riders will continue to provide feedback on a variety of terrains throughout the extensive men’s and women’s racing calendar. The ultimate goal is to provide consumers with the best possible experience with Pirelli tires.

Matteo Barbieri, head of Pirelli Cycling: “ The partnership with a leading company like Trek and the athletes of the Trek-Segafredo team is crucial for Pirelli, in order to further raise the technological level of our cycling tires, designed with the quality and performance required by professionals and the adaptability and versatility needed by amateurs. Today, the collaboration continues and expands, confirming our mutual satisfaction with the path traveled together so far. »

Roger Gierhart, Vice President of Trek Bicycle, said: “ Pirelli has a decades-long history of producing racing tires, winning multiple titles. We are proud to work with a company that has played such an important role in cycling’s rich history. Pirelli is an invaluable partner to Trek-Segafredo, particularly in the way they work with our riders and staff to produce products that excel in the World Tour peloton. ».

Italian champion Elisa Longo Borghini concluded: “ We are proud to race with Pirelli and work with their technicians. Thanks to the intensive and extensive use of technology that Pirelli puts into its cycling tires, the development work is constant and we always have the certainty of being able to count on the most advanced material. Furthermore, it is exciting to think that our cycling tires are designed, manufactured and testés with the same technology that Formula 1 drivers use every weekend! ».
