The GFNY Cannes thus enriches the municipal program Cannes, Capital of Outdoor Sports, launched in 2016 by Mayor David Lisnard, himself a great sportsman (distinguished marathon runner, cyclist and occasional triathlete) who promotes natural sites, infrastructures, sporting events and makes sport accessible to all, Sunday sportsmen or confirmed practitioners. In addition, this new event completes the offer of Cannes events dedicated to the little queen with the Gentlemen de Cannes (the 71st edition took place on Sunday February 6) and the cyclosportive La Lazaridès (27th edition on April 23). Finally, the Cannes City Hall is currently working on the organization of a mountain bike ride in the heart of the city, inspired by Urban Trails.
