The Galibier Challenge launched the summer season of sporting events at the Col du Galibier and participants were able to express themselves on a 110-kilometre course with a 3350 m elevation gain, including the climbs of Orelle, the Col de Beau Plan and the sequence of the Télégraphe and the Galibier.

A timed climb was also offered with the formidable sequence of the Télégraphe and Galibier passes with 1900 m of elevation gain for only 35 kilometers. Lovers of the little queen, competitors or amateurs, were able to set off under the radiant sun of Saint Michel de Maurienne, before finishing at 2645 m altitude in more difficult conditions, with rain and cool weather that arrived early in the afternoon.
