One of Zwift's most successful recent additions, PacePartners, set to exit program test FutureWorks. PacePartners are featured prominently on the home screen and allow Zwift users to join a group for a group workout at different paces.

On Route Based Workouts are an alternative to FTP training offering a more accessible path to structured training on the platform. As the name suggests, the program Route Based Workout uses the terrain and Zwift marked segments to create a training plan.

THE RACE

Racing on Zwift has always been a popular way to train. The 2022 calendar, as well as other details, can be found on a new website dedicated to racing.
  • La Zwift Racing League is the largest competitive Zwift league, with over 1 teams and 800 runners participated last season. ZRL offers races for all levels.
  • The novelty of this season is the ZRacing, a series of thematic races for each month of the year. ZRacing allows you to take part in competitions on a regular basis. A new stage will take place every week to fit everyone's schedule.
  • Zwift will once again be the host platform for the 2023 UCI Esports Cycling World Championships. As in 2022, the qualifying events, followed by the continental championships, will give the Zwifters to qualify for 2023 UCI Esports Cycling World Championships.
  •  Zwift has also rolled out the Automatic categorization to make races fairer. It allows Zwifters to compete against runners of similar ability, based on their most recent race data recorded on the platform.

THE ROUTES

Finally, the innovation that all Zwifters are waiting for: new routes! In November, Makuri Islands will host Urukazi (pronounced woo-roo-kah-zi) a new map containing routes, gravel and dirt surfaces that wind through a lush forest. The Urukazi terrain, is Zwift's interpretation of the landscape of these islands. On the menu, in addition to the pavement and gravel, a new type of surface that doesn't exist anywhere else on Zwift.
