A look back at the 1st edition of the Gravel Tour du Mont Blanc.

They left Megève on Saturday September 3 at 5am as Pioneers, they returned as Heroes after completing the Tour du Mont Blanc on gravel and the 234 km – 8500 m D+ of the course designed by Nicolas Roux (Co-organizer of the race with Fx Blanc and Maxime Poisson of Wish One).

An ultimate event that saw an incredible duel for victory in the men's race, between Emeric Turcat and Swiss mountain bike legend Christoph Sauser. It was in the last part of the race that Emeric Turcat made the difference to put his name on the GTMB 2022 list of winners with a blistering time of 12:15!

In the women's race, Ali Gibb (Wish One Racing), the only woman at the start, pushed her limits and crossed the 8 passes on the course (including 2 at over 2500 m altitude: Col de la Seigne and Grand Col Ferret) to arrive in Megève after 20 hours and 56 minutes of effort.

A HALF format (140 km – 5000m D+) was also on the program with a start from Courmayeur in Italy. It was the Frenchman Sébastien Jarrot (Assos) who won in 8h19.

On Sunday, a 75 km and 2500 m D+ sporty hike, the Gravel Tour du Mont Joly sponsored by Crédit Agricole des 2 Savoie offered a wider and more feminine audience a gravel experience with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc all along the route.
