ENVE presents its brand new Gravel bike, the MOG

ENVE presents the MOG, a Gravel bike specifically designed to meet the high performance and versatility demands of today's Gravel riders and competitors.

In 2021, ENVE launched its first complete bike, the Custom Road, in 2022 the brand added the Melee, a modern race bike. With these platforms and the new MOG gravel bike, ENVE continues its evolution from a wheel and component specialist to a bicycle brand. The MOG is offered in six frame sizes from 49 to 60 cm and is manufactured overseas in the ENVE factory.

« With the MOG, we introduce ENVE’s definition of the modern gravel bike. As passionate gravel riders and racers ourselves, our goal was to create a platform that delivers the versatility, simplicity, and performance that we, and today’s gravel riders, demand. " said Jake Pantone, vice president of brand management.

Standout features of the MOG include 700c-specific geometry, up to 50mm of tire clearance, and the ENVE cargo box that provides storage in the frame's downtube. While aerodynamics weren't the MOG's top priority, it does use tube shapes borrowed from route optimized in this regard. The internal routing of hoses and sheaths is entrusted to the ENVE IN-systemRoute, for optimized paths.

« Gravel 650b wheel fans may ask why wheel size was removed from the scope of MOG. After years of test and 650b evaluation, it became clear that, as with mountain biking, high-volume tires on a 700c rim was the best compromise. From there, we set out to design the MOG to run big 700c tires, while eliminating the need for flip-chips or other solutions to accommodate two different wheel sizes." , Pantone said.

« Because we ride and race our gravel bikes on such a wide variety of surfaces and conditions ranging from extremely rough to smooth, we focused on ensuring that the geometry and design of the MOG provided a balanced ride in every environment. Knowing that there is a wide range of uses for a gravel bike, from racing to adventure, or a combination of both, it was also important to us to offer a range of component options that allow each rider to tailor the MOG to their needs with handlebar and seatpost options.”, said Neil Shirley, ENVE's marketing director.

In terms of construction, the MOG is manufactured from various unidirectional carbon fiber laminates using ENVE's Material Optimized Design (MOD) process. In simple terms, Material Optimized Design means designing and manufacturing products that exploit the strengths of carbon fiber. The materials, fiber weights and fiber angles used in the laminate are selected and manipulated to achieve performance specific to the area of the frame. Carbon is the key ingredient, and we use the best available, but ultimately it’s the process it goes through that makes the whole thing an ENVE product.”, Pantone said.

Fit and geometry is another area that ENVE has paid close attention to with their new bike. The MOG is available in six frame sizes, with three fork offsets to ensure that riders of all sizes will have the same confidence-inspiring handling that the MOG is meant to deliver.

When ENVE introduced the Custom Road in 2021, they introduced the ENVE chassis. An ENVE chassis is a canvas on which you can create the bike of your dreams. The MOG is available as a “chassis only” that includes the frame, fork, headset, handlebar, stem, and seatpost. The handlebar, stem, and seatpost are selected a la carte to ensure customers get the exact fit specifications they need right from the start. Four IN-System compatible handlebarsRoute are available, in addition to the options between a dropper or fixed seatpost, ensuring that each customer can build the MOG best suited to their needs.

To facilitate the installation process, ENVE has created the ENVE Best-Fit Calculator. Your bike should be an extension of your body and we want people to get that seamless feel from the first pedal stroke. Our calculator aims to simplify the setup process for both the seller and the customer. The calculator works by simply pairing Stack, Reach and Seat Height with the frame geometry. The calculator provides the rider with several frame and component setup options that the rider, along with their advisor, can analyze to determine the “best fit” option., Pantone said.

For further customization and tuning, the MOG customer can then select the ENVE wheelset of their choice. The MOG is initially available in a single color, but ENVE offers MOG customers the opportunity to design a custom sticker kit in conjunction with the distributor for France, Mohawk's. The kit includes stickers for the head tube, stem, down tube and seat tube.

The MOG is available now in all sizes. The ENVE MOG chassis costs €5 and includes the frame, fork, headset, stem, handlebars and seatpost. The MOG is also available as a complete bike starting at €799 in Sram Rival AXS.
