950 km and 10 m of D+ through the trails and routes connecting Melun to Nimes, this is what awaits Gravel enthusiasts who will set out to conquer this route, inspired by the bicycle crossing of two friends at the end of the 2th century.
Gravel and adventure enthusiasts now have a long distance challenge to be done at any time of the year. A challenge inspired by the story and drawings of the crossing, 126 years ago, in "Bécane" by Marie-Antoine Barret and Léon Giran-Max that Zéfal has restored in book form. A journey through a country, our country, that we would have difficulty in reconto be born.
This challenge starts from Melun and arrives at the Tower Magne de Nîmes will take you through the Venice of Gâtinais, the pointed city, the Bourbonnais country, the Puys chain, the Cézallier, the Monts du Cantal, the Truyère valley and its famous viaduct, the Margeride, and the Cévennes. A discovery of our country by the strength of your calves via a 950 km route and 10 m of positive elevation gain, i.e. 32 “Laurent Jalabert” climb. Thousands of kilometers were traveled to identify and select the paths taken.
A challenge with compulsory registration, free and for free. No time limit, the cyclist will have to follow the GPX track of the challenge on their GPS and have the organization validate their GPX file once completed. Following the successful completion of this journey, participants will receive the book published based on the account of the 1897 journey, distinctive Zéfal prizes and will appear in the honor roll of the winners of the Challenge du Tourmagne.

I looked for fellow cyclists to set up this slightly crazy project of a big gravel trail to be ridden as a challenge and, ultimately, unsurprisingly, I only met people who were enthusiastic about carrying out this project. We worked, we rode, we punctured and damaged our transmissions, we were surprised to have endured more than we expected. It is with great joy that we will see the first registrations of challengers arrive to attempt this challenge and try to win their copy of the book as well as their place on the Challenge du Tourmagne honor roll. »
