Several new drivetrains have been launched on the market since the end of 2022. Shimano first presented the 105 Di2, to make electronic gear changes more accessible than higher-end versions Dura-Ace and Ultegra launched in late 2021. Then, a year later, the Japanese brand launched the new 105 in 12 speeds, but with cable shifting this time, for greater simplicity. At the same time, Shimano has introduced a new 12-speed mechanical groupset, dedicated to Gravel, with the GRX which is available in several versions.

Updated May 23, 2024 : Shimano now offers its group GRX 12 speed in Di2 version.

On the Sram side, the big news for 2023 was the Force AXS, refined compared to the previous version and available with new options (with or without power sensor, double or single chainring, with very extensive development ranges for Gravel). But the brand has also renewed its entry-level range, theApex, only available as a single chainring, but now available with electronic or mechanical transmission.

Updated May 15, 2024 : Sram launched the new Red AXS, a very high-end groupset whose weight is now very close to the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2.

Finally, Campagnolo has launched its new flagship groupset WRL Super Record now with wireless electronic transmission and a new range of developments, including cassettes with a 10-tooth start and a crankset with a large chainring of 45, 48 or 50 teeth.

All these new products have in common that they are offered with 12-speed cassettes and only disc brakes. However, within the manufacturers' catalogues, there are still some proposals with rim brakes, with Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra from Shimano, Red AXS from Sram, and a full range of five groupsets from Campagnolo. You can still find a few 11-speed groupsets as well.

Public weights and prices of all groups route and Gravel from the market

Weights are given as an indication and correspond to the lightest versions of the groupsets. They also depend on the options (teeth, chainrings). For groupsets with cable derailleur and rim brakes, the weights include the brake and derailleur cables (100 + 90 g). For disc groupsets, the weights include the brake hoses and fluid. For electronic groupsets, the weights include the electrical wires if necessary. For all these elements, the same default weight has been applied for all groupsets, in order to be able to compare them with each other, since manufacturers very rarely include them in the communicated weights. The prices indicated are recommended retail prices and are indicative only. Beware of promotional prices on certain sites, with imposed options (teeth and crank length).
