Gravel World Championships: the results

Matej Mohoric was crowned Gravel Elite world champion this Sunday, October 8 in Pieve di Soligo (Italy). The Slovenian won ahead of Belgian Florian Vermeersch and Briton Connor Swift. Alejandro Valverde finished 4th, and Wout van Aert 8th after a puncture. Laurent Brochard won the title in the 55-59 age category, 26 years after his title on route among the pros. We also find the former Olympic champion Samuel Sanchez, winner in the 45-49 age group.

In the Elite women's race, Poland's Katarzina Niewiadioma won ahead of Italy's Silvia Persico and the Netherlands' Demi Vollering.

In the age groups, we find the French Benjamin Olivier 7th in the 35-39 age group, Jean Mespoulède 2nd behind the Dutch Johnny Hoogerland in the 40-44 age group, Loïc Herbreteau and David De Vecchi in 6th and 7th place in the 45-49 age group, Stephan Mifsud and Xavier Brisseaud in 6th and 8th place in the 50-54 category, Thierry Germaneau and Guillaume Rousset in 7th and 8th places behind Laurent Brochard in 55-59, Jean-Jacques Szkolnik and Régis Pinson 9th and 10th in the over 65s, and Virginie Perrin 4th in the women 40-44.
