After a first day dedicated to the Gravel Course, yesterday Saturday October 14, we found the participants of the Raid des Alpilles this Sunday at the start of Maussane-les-Alpilles. In total, nearly 900 cyclists took the departures of the Baux (timed) and Alpilles (hiking) courses. A new record with a total of more than 1 participants over the entire weekend!

On the program for this Sunday, 120km & 1m of D+ for the competitors with an early start for the women. After a first loop from Maussane-les-Alpilles towards Les Baux-de-Provence, the 150 cyclists set off towards Aureille via Mouriès through vineyards and olive groves. After two passages at the Pas de la Figuière, the course ended in style at the Col de Sarragan. Throughout the day, there were many supporters to encourage the cyclists braving the strong gusts of wind with brilliance.

At the end of the race, it was the young Noé MELOT who took victory in the men's race in 3h13mn, just a few seconds ahead of his competitors.
In the women's race, the Dutchwoman Nicolien LUIJSTERBURG won in 3h40mn.
Final of the Cyclo'Tour Rotor
This cyclosportive event hosted for the third consecutive year the final of the Cyclo'Tour Rotor, a national challenge bringing together 9 rounds spread over 7 events. After leading the challenge throughout the season, it was Cédric RICHARD, already victorious in 2021 and 2nd last year, who won in the men's category. In the women's category, victory went to Eva POIROT and in the Masters 50 and over category to Jean-Noël JACQUEMOD. A deserved and unsurprising podium for all three.

The hiking trail
To suit as many people as possible, a non-timed course of 96km & 880m of D+ was also proposed to allow you to discover the Alpilles at your own pace. Following in the footsteps of the timed course, the route took the 200 participants to Les Baux-de-Provence and the Alpilles Regional Natural Park. A memorable day!
