While the time trials (46,1 km for men and 29,9 km for women) will take place on profiles without major difficulty, the same will not be true for the events on route. After a hilly straight course, the women will have to complete four laps of a difficult 27 km circuit, for a total of 154,1 km with 2 m of elevation gain. For the Elite men, seven laps will have to be covered, for a total of 488 km with a positive elevation gain of 273,9 m.

Two main difficulties make up this final circuit, with the climb of Zürichbergstrasse (1,1 km at 8% average, 15% maximum) which will precede the climb of Witikon (2,3 km at 5,7%, 9% max), at the beginning of each lap. A third, shorter hill, will precede the finish line.
