Drawing on POC’s experience in winter sports and cycling, the Calyx is a multifunctional helmet for skiing, mountaineering and cycling. Boasting a wealth of POC innovations in performance and protection, the Calyx delivers on both city cycling and summit climbing.

With its design and development approach, the Calyx is perfectly suited to skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering and cycling. It can be used to pedal to the ski resort and then go on an adventure away from the slopes. It is also ideal for enjoying the slopes, the snow park, spending a day climbing a cliff, or even making your daily commute by bike. Thanks to its ventilation system and its easily customizable modular design, it adapts naturally to the activity and its environment.

Multicertification

Calyx and Calyx Carbon helmets are designed and certified for skiing, mountaineering and cycling. These three certification standards are different. Each requires international certifications designed for that specific use. The certifications for skiing and cycling are well known. Although the requirements differ by country, they are common. They mainly consist of a test fall protection to ensure safety and the ability to withstand impacts. Certification for mountaineering requires a development process and tests completely different. Helmets must be able to withstand significant falls, as well as penetration forces such as those corresponding to a rock fall.

Although it may look like a classic ski helmet at first glance, the Calyx’s sleek appearance conceals many technical details and cutting-edge materials. For example, the use of an innovative woven material that protects the helmet, optimizes ventilation and creates a unique silhouette. Obtaining multiple certifications requires a range of materials that are carefully selected to meet the constraints. Both the Calyx and the Calyx Carbon feature an optimized dual-density EPP structure. This is very durable and provides protection against multiple impacts. The ABS and carbon shells of the Calyx are exceptionally resistant to wear and impacts. The thickness of their material is optimized throughout the helmet. The shell of the carbon model is naturally stronger for a lower weight.

The Calyx's ventilation system is designed to promote airflow. Its purpose is to maintain an optimal temperature during ski touring climbs, downhill skiing or weekend bike rides in the city. The specific linear channels inside the helmet are inspired by the bicycle helmets of route and POC MTB helmets. They allow air to circulate freely around the head. POC cycling helmets also inspired the ventilation holes on the top of the helmet. These evacuate hot air during your activities thanks to a chimney effect. This helmet also features a three-position ventilation adjustment system, allowing you to adjust it precisely to your needs.

The mask strap clip, foldable earmuffs and neck warmer are designed to be easily removed or put on depending on the needs of the activity or season.

Precise adjustment system – with transport mode

The Calyx Fit System delivers the superior fit and comfort of POC helmets. Simply turn the rear dial to achieve a comfortable, personalized fit. An integrated three-stage vertical adjustment system allows for even more personalized adjustment. New: The Calyx Fit System is fully retractable. It can be pushed completely into the helmet in “transport mode.” This is a plus for using the helmet intagor store it for transport.

RECCO® and Mips Evolve

Like the rest of POC helmets, the Calyx incorporates many safety-enhancing features. A RECCO® reflector integrated into the helmet makes it easier for rescue teams to locate the person if they are lost in the dark.tagor caught in an avalanche. In addition, the reliable Mips Evolve system optimizes protection against rotational impacts.

Earmuffs

Two attachment clips on each earmuff keep them securely in place. The foldable earmuffs are very flexible. The specific design of the helmet allows them to be folded inwards for transport and storage. Easily removable, these earmuffs have been designed precisely to adapt to the silhouette of the helmet. Thus, the user can wear the helmet with or without earmuffs depending on the weather. They can also use the neck warmer.

Neck warmer

The helmet is designed and supplied with a matching neck warmer. It allows users to adapt their equipment according to their preferences.
