The 18 biggest teams in the world have presented their squads for the 2024 season, as well as the colours of their jerseys and their equipment. Only two French teams at the World Tour level are changing their cycle brands this year, with Groupama – FDJ (from Lapierre to Wilier) and Decathlon – AG2R La Mondiale (from BMC to Van Rysel). But equipment changes are also visible at this level, since we note for example the disappearance of Campagnolo among these 18 teams as a transmission supplier, or the switch from Shimano to Sram for the German team Bora – Hansgrohe, one of the biggest teams in the world, which also recruited Primoz Roglic in the off-season. So let's take stock of the equipment used by the World Tour teams in 2024, as well as their full squads, in order to best follow a season that promises to be exciting.

Alpecin – Deceuninck (Belgium)
Sponsors: shampoo and door and window brands
Cycle brand: Canyon (Germany)
You don't change a winning team, and a team that wins a lot with 35 victories in 2024 at Alpecin – Deceuninck, which keeps its two charismatic leaders, namely world champion Mathieu van der Poel (also winner of Milan – San Remo and Paris – Roubaix) and sprinter Jasper Philipsen (four stage victories on the Tour de France). For this last challenge, the Kazakh team has recruited Michael Mørkøv, his pilot fish when he was at Quick Step. With the arrivals of Kenny Elissonde, Ben Hermans and the return to the pros of Alexis Gougeard, the Cofidis team is strengthening itself as a solid formation, both on the Grand Tours and the Classics. On the equipment side, the northern team remains loyal to Look, with the 795 RS, a bike at the level of the market references. Corima and Michelin come to reinforce the very French image of Cofidis.

EF Education – EasyPost (United States)

Cycle brand: Cannondale (USA)
The EF Education – EasyPost team's 26 victories in 2023 do not quite reflect its excellent season, its presence on all terrains and its world ranking, in eighth place. The friendly American team welcomes the Portuguese veteran Rui Costa in 2024. No change on the equipment side, since the excellent new Cannondale Super Six Evo has been used since the start of the 2023 season.

Groupama – FDJ (France)
Sponsors: insurance company and national lottery
Cycle brand: Wilier (Italy)
Several major changes have taken place in the off-season in the Groupama – FDJ team. First of all, the retirement of Thibaut Pinot, who will not be replaced. The French team has complete confidence in David Gaudu to take on the role of sole leader on the Grand Tours, and in its promising youngsters, Lenny Marinez and Romain Grégoire at the head. Then on the bike side, since the collaboration between Lapierre and Marc Madiot's team ended after 22 years. It is finally Wilier who takes up the torch, with the same frames as those of the Astana team. For the rest, Groupama – FDJ remains faithful to Shimano, its historic partner.

INEOS Grenadiers (UK)
Sponsors: petrochemical products and individual manufacturer
Cycle brand: Pinarello (Italy)
Tobias Foss, the 2022 time trial world champion from Jumbo – Visma, is INEOS Grenadiers' only major signing this off-season. The team is thus strengthening its time trial skills with Filippo Ganna and Joshua Tarling. The former world number one team's ability to perform in the Grand Tours will mainly depend on the return to form, which is still hypothetical for the moment, of Egan Bernal, two years after his serious crash that nearly cost him his life. At almost 38 years old, Geraint Thomas has re-enlisted, but without being certain of performing as well as in the past. Finally, we are waiting to see what Tom Pidcock's abilities are at this level. In terms of equipment, the British team remains loyal to Pinarello, with the Dogma F, one of the most versatile bikes in the peloton.

Cycle brand: Cube (Germany)
Intermarché – Wanty continues its route of World Tour troublemaker, with a squad of adventurers to animate the stages of the Grand Tours and the Classics. The young Eritrean prodigy Biniam Girmay remains the best chance to win a prestigious success. The Belgian team is also counting on continuity in terms of equipment, with equipment identical to that of the 2023 season.

The team has serious assets in both stage races and the Classics, with former world champion Mads Pedersen, and the other Dane Mattias Skjelmose. In terms of equipment, the team rides with Trek Madone or Emonda, with Sram transmissions and Bontrager accessories.

Cycle brand: Canyon (Germany)
After a year in purgatory, Nairo Quintana returns to the team of his beginnings, after his positive test for Tramadol during the 2022 Tour de France while he was racing under the colors of Arkea – Samsic. The Colombian is reunited with the other climber Enrique Mas, but also a choice reinforcement in the person of Davide Formolo, from UAE, and the French time trial champion Rémi Cavagna, who left Soudal – Quick Step. Little change in terms of equipment, with the exception of the Time pedals which replace the Look. Movistar remains faithful to Canyon for several seasons, just like Quintana.

Soudal – Quick Step (Belgium)
Sponsors: producer of silicone and sealants, and manufacturer of coatings
Cycle brand: Specialized (USA)
Once threatened by a rumor of a merger with Jumbo – Visma, the Soudal – Quick Step team seems to be resolutely moving towards the Grand Tours around the time trial world champion Remco Evenepoel, who will make his debut on the Tour de France in 2024. To support him, Mikel Landa has been recruited, but he will have carte blanche on the Vuelta. And as for Julian Alaphilippe, after two mixed seasons, he will discover the Giro, after a Classics campaign where hetagwill take the lead with Evenepoel and Kasper Asgreen. Soudal – Quick Step also remains loyal to Specialized, with the Tarmac SL8, a Shimano drivetrain and Roval components.

Team Jayco – AlUla (Australia)
Sponsors: private sponsorship and motorhome brand
Cycle brand: Giant (Taiwan)
The Australian team mainly records the return of sprinter Caleb Ewan (ex Lotto Dstny), five years after he left the team (which was called Mitchelton-Scott at the time). Formed around its sprinters (Ewan, Matthews, Groenewegen) and climber Simon Yates, the team mainly rides on the Giant Propel, aerodynamic and lightweight, which thus demonstrates a lot of versatility. Apart from a Shimano transmission, the Propel is mounted with components from the Cadex brand, which belongs to Giant (wheels, tires, saddle, etc.).

Team Visma – Lease a Bike (Netherlands)
Sponsors: software company and bike rental company
Cycle brand: Cervélo (USA)
With Primoz Roglic having decided to leave the team, Team Visma – Lease a Bike has not remained inactive on the transfer market by banking on youth to support Jonas Vingegaard in his quest for a third victory on the Tour de France, with the recruitments of the American Matteo Jorgenson (ex Movistar) and especially the Belgian nugget Cian Uijtdebroeks (ex Bora). After a slightly mixed season in 2023, Wout van Aert has modified his preparation to be at the top of his game in the Classics, then in the Giro, which he will participate in for the first time. No change for the equipment, since the team is part oftagera between the Cervélo S5 for rolling courses, and the R5 for mytagno, always equipped with Reserve wheels and a Sram transmission.

UAE Team Emirates (United Arab Emirates)
Sponsors: airline and united arab emirates
Cycle brand: Colnago (Italy)
World number 1 for three seasons, Tadej Pogacar shines on all terrains, but has just failed two years in a row behind Jonas Vingegaard on the Tour de France. His team, the richest on the grid, was further strengthened in the off-season with the arrival of French climber Pavel Sivakov (ex INEOS), rouleur Nils Politt (ex Bora) and 20-year-old Mexican prodigy Isaac Del Toro. For 2024, UAE remains loyal to Colnago, a brand now under Emirati control, with the V4RS already used in 2023.
