Up to 28% less pressure, where it matters most. What do you think? By combining scientifically proven Body Geometry ergonomic methodology with Mirror 3D printing technology, Specialized has created a family of saddles. They deliver evidence-based superior performance and comfort, reducing sit bone pressure by up to 28% while protecting soft tissue and improving blood flow. Introducing the latest member of this family: the S-Works Phenom with Mirror. It was developed in collaboration with top World Tour and World Cup riders.

Well known for its long, flat profile, the Phenom is the shape of choice for many of the world's best riders., from Tour of Flanders winner Kasper Asgreen to DH World Champion Loïc Bruni. Like all saddles made by Specialized, the S-Works Phenom with Mirror was developed with the exclusive Body Geometry methodology, combined with Mirror 3D printing technology that creates an infinitely customizable saddle.
"I feel so fortunate to have been able to contribute to the development of the S-Works Phenom with Mirror in collaboration with the Specialized Saddle Team. I love the customizability of Mirror technology – combined with the vibration absorption and comfort of Mirror”, says Kasper Asgreen, rider of the Soudal-Quick-Step team.
28% less pressure
Using a concave shape and a carbon shell, the brand has created a space for a thicker Mirror print, using 20 struts and 055 nodes, which allows for more “travel” within the 8D print itself. If the S-Works Power with Mirror, with 735 struts and 3 nodes, was a 14mm XC bike, the S-Works Phenom with Mirror would be a 000mm trail bike. This extra “travel” reduces the pressure on the sit bone by 7% compared to a traditional foam saddle, as measured by ultra-high-resolution pressure mapping.
Soft tissue relief
Two decades of research around Body Geometry were initiated by the study of soft tissue pressure relief on stool. The new S-Works Phenom with Mirror benefits from this research by implementing an ergonomic support cutout to protect blood flow in delicate soft tissues by ensuring that the rider's weight is supported by the pubic branches in a so-called aggressive position, and not by the soft tissues.
A form inspired by performance
With a length of 27 cm (compared to 24 cm for the Power) and being the flattest saddle from tail to nose in the range, the shape and construction of the S-Works Phenom with Mirror allows for maximum movement for optimal positioning that maximizes power. The shape of the Phenom allows riders to easily adjust their position on the saddle for cadence efforts and helps riders get up and sit up on climbs.
The Phenom's shape is the perfect complement to the Mirror family. Between the Power saddle that delights riders looking for a locked-in feel and the Romin EVO that supports riders with its pronounced wing, the Phenom is perfect for riders who adjust their positioning as needed to optimize their power. Saddle preferences are so personal, and with these three shapes, at the end of the day, it's safe to say that the brand appeals to everyone.
Advanced materials
In addition to the innovative Mirror technology, the S-Works Phenom with Mirror uses a concave carbon hull and 7 x 9 mm carbon rails, offering lightness and durability. The result is an incredible combination of performance, comfort and durability with a weight of 223 grams.
