After more than a year of research and development, Santini finally unveils the Magic, its brand new waterproof jacket that succeeds the legendary Nimbus. Not only is it waterproof and breathable, but it is also part of an eco-responsible approach, all at a very competitive price of €200 (compared to more than €300 for its direct competitors). The Santini jacket Magic is available today in BtoB and from March 1, 2025 for the general public, This jacket promises to revolutionize cyclists' equipment thanks to its innovative Power Shield™ RPM fabric from Polartec. A sleeveless version will also be available at €120, with the same qualities and available in four elegant colours: black, burgundy, purple and cappuccino.
Santini: Italian know-how at the service of cyclists
Since 1965, Santini has established itself as a pioneer in technical cycling clothing, always produced in Italy with particular attention to quality. The company is known for its close-fitting cuts, designed like a second skin, and for the performance of its high-tech fabrics, widely adopted by professional cyclists. Each garment is designed to guarantee optimal comfort during long rides, while offering exemplary durability.
Santini embodies the passion of cycling with 100% production Made in Italy:, And the Magic is no exception to this tradition.
A revolutionary fabric: Power Shield RPM
The strong point of the Magic is its Power Shield™ RPM fabric, developed by Polartec. Designed from recycled polyester, it is waterproof, breathable, and above all eco-responsible. In the rain, this technology works wonders : even after hours of exposure to the elements, no water infiltration is to be reported. In addition, the jacket allows good evacuation of body heat, thus avoiding the “sauna” effect often unpleasant with classic waterproof jackets. In short, it says “no” to rain, but “yes” to breathability!

Design and comfort: elegance at the service of performance
From the first grip, la Magic seduces with its lightness and its refined design. With its four colours, it adapts to all tastes. Its high collar and heat-sealed seams prevent wind and moisture from getting in, and despite its fitted cut, it remains very comfortable. The fabric is flexible enough to allow great freedom of movement, whether you are going uphill or downhill.

The cuffs and waist are also well thought out., with elastics that prevent water from entering, even in the gloves or at the bottom of the back. This attention to detail clearly shows that Santini has designed this jacket to meet the needs of cyclists, whether amateur or professional.
Performance in the rain: an insurmountable barrier
We have testand there Magic during a 3+ hour ride in continuous rain, and it lived up to its promises. The Power Shield™ RPM keeps water out, even after long exposure. Even more impressive, the jacket effectively wicks away perspiration, making it comfortable to wear even during sustained efforts. No more feeling like you're suffocating under your waterproof jacket! This combination of waterproofing and breathability is without contestand one of the greatest assets of the Magetc.

At what temperatures should the Santini be used? Maghere?
The vest Magic replaces the Nimbus in the Santini range, a jacket designed for use at temperatures from +5 to +15°C. From our point of view, the Magic meets the same expectations under wet conditions, and its use can be suitable for both winter outings and rain showers in the middle of summer in montagne. You just have to adjust the underwear to adapt it to the temperature if you wear it as a second layer, whereas as additional protection, it can be easily worn over a summer swimsuit.
Compact and easy to store
One of the great advantagIt's from the MagIt is its compactness. Very light, it can be folded up in the blink of an eye like a K-Way and stored in a jersey pocket or a small bike bag. This practical aspect makes it ideal for outings where the weather is uncertain. If the rain comes, you take it out quickly, and as soon as the sun comes back, you put it away just as quickly. This lightness and ease of storage are major assets for cyclists looking for discreet but high-performance equipment.

An eco-responsible gesture
Santini has not only focused on performance, but also on eco-responsibility. La Magic is made of recycled polyester and does not contain PFAS, these substances often used for waterproofing but harmful to the environment. By investing in this jacket, you are not only making a choice for your comfort and performance, but also for the planet.
An investment worth it
La MagSantini's ic goes far beyond being a simple waterproof jacket. It offers a perfect balance between performance, con

It's an investment, sure, but for a jacket that can withstand extreme conditions while remaining ultra-comfortable and practical, it's well worth every penny. At 3bikes, we can only recommend this jacket for cyclists concerned with performance, durability, and eco-responsibility. One thing is certain: la Magic will quickly become a must-have in your equipment.

Hello
I have a doubt about the size...I am 1m90 for 78kg, if I trust their table I am between M and L, I am afraid that in length it is small, what do you think?
Thank you
Hello Thierry,
Thank you for your message! To give you a point of comparison: I am 1m tall and weigh 76kg and I wear the jacket in size M. It is very fitted, really close to the body, which is good for a slim figure.
In your case, with 1m90 and 78 kg, I would definitely advise you to go for a size L. Not only for the length, but also to be comfortable at the shoulders and arms. The model is rather small, so it is better to avoid taking too tight.
Bonne route and don't hesitate if you have any other questions!

Thank you for the answer.
I admit that I was even hesitant to go for XL!
Thierry
Hello
Thanks for the reply. I was even hesitant to go for XL now!

@Tatard J-François
With a few differences: The Gabba is the short-sleeved jacket, otherwise it is called Perfetto in long sleeve. In addition, the Gabba and Perfetto are refined for the new version (RoS 2) compared to the previous generation in order to use less materials with a negative environmental impact… Castelli therefore has a similar approach to Santini in this respect.
Finally, the Perfetto does not cost €299 but €229 on the Castelli website. Ultimately, the difference is less significant compared to the Santini.
There remains one question for both models: Is the DWR water-repellent treatment durable over time and machine washes?
@jrouge
To get the water repellent treatment back on a Gabba or a Perfetto, you can apply an iron. I saw a video on Youtube about this a few years ago. I don't know if it still works with new materials, but it's a lead to explore. Good route !
Black, always black... And then we wonder why cyclists are victims of accidents on the route. especially in this period of low light. Personally, I only favor neon-colored winter clothes. A word to the wise.
That's right, rain = low light so need to be seen.
But a yellow or pink jacket, for example, is ruined in one outing with tar stains.
Above all, you need to ride with lighting. The Garmin Varia is great for that!
Do you think the jacket can replace the gaba from castelli?
Thank you for this very pertinent question! Indeed, the Santini jacket Magic and the Castelli Gabba each have their strengths. The Magic, sold at €200, costs €100 less than the Gabba and stands out for its waterproofness, breathability and eco-responsible commitment, while being very compact and easy to store. It is therefore an option beforetageuse for cyclists looking for comfort and versatility. For its part, the Gabba at €299, is positioned as a performance model, designed for competition with an ultra-close fit and exceptional aerodynamics. In summary, the Magic appeals for its value for money and versatility, while the Gabba remains the choice of more purist competition riders.
