In order to optimize training and race preparation, the Visma Lease a Bike team was looking for a virtual cycling platform with realistic route features. With the unique tool Route Creator from ROUVY, Riders and coaches in the team's performance hub can now easily replicate and ride specific routes from anywhere. For example, Jonas Vingegaard can now preview and train for Tour de France summit finishes from his home in Denmark, regardless of poor weather conditions, or replicate any challenging terrain in the world without leaving home. This feature also supports any cycling coach, who can then guide riders around the world through the same route simulations, ensuring consistent and personalized tracking.
Mathieu Heijboer, performance coach of Team Visma Lease a Bike, highlights the impact of Route Creator : “With ROUVY, we can build and simulate precise routes for training or reconrace births. This allows us to prepare our riders in real conditions while taking into account specific terrains, even thousands of kilometers away.”
In addition to real-world route planning, the partnership offers users exclusive access to Visma Lease a Bike team training sessions inspired by star riders such as Jonas Vingegaard, Wout Van Aert and Marianne Vos.
Jonas Vingegaard highlighted the impact of the feature Route Creator on his training program: “Being able to train on the real ROUVY routes allows me to recon“I have the opportunity to be born and train on courses that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to access due to weather or travel. It’s invaluable in ensuring that I’m prepared no matter where I am.”
The partnership will kick off with a group ride on November 27 at 18pm, where all ROUVY members will be able to join Visma Lease a Bike riders, including Atilla Valter and Ben Tullet. It will be possible to ride the last part of the final stage of La Vuelta, riding towards the iconic center of Madrid on routes traffic-free, with a few short climbs over 20 km and 213 m of elevation gain.
For the future, the collaboration will extend from January 2025 where cyclists will be able to follow the winter preparation program with new training, planning, virtual assets such as jerseys and bikes, and expert advice. This will provide access to the same techniques that make the Visma Lease a Bike team shine, allowing cyclists around the world to improve their outdoor season.
Petr Samek, CEO of ROUVY, spoketagand his enthusiasm about the possibilities of the partnership: “Our collaboration with the Visma Lease a Bike team brings professional-level training to every ROUVY rider, allowing them to train on real-world routes that matter. We also want to enable our riders and fans of our teams to ride alongside professional riders. This partnership provides the tools and experience that professionals and dedicated amateurs need to excel.”

How can you train for downhill runs?
Where do we talk about training on the descents?
Too bad, I don't really like the home trainer. Staying on a stationary bike for several hours is not really my thing.
The home trainer has changed a lot since the appearance of new applications. It is sometimes really realistic, and time passes very quickly with good equipment that faithfully reproduces the difficulties of the route.
