Last Monday, November 25, the epic rivalry between Froome and Contador, which has given us so many great moments, had its last dance on the routes of the BKOOL cycling simulator.
For the first time, the two legends took part in a stage of the virtual Giro d'Italia, accompanied by an international peloton made up of hundreds of fans who were able to ride alongside them from their living rooms.
During the warm-up minutes before the stage, Froome and Contador exchanged their impressions and some anecdotes from the past via a live Instagcommon ram. Then, in the first kilometers of the challenge, Contador showed his motivation by finding himself in the leading group from the start. He led the peloton for several kilometers and jumped into the breakaway to ensure that it reached the finish.
Froome, for his part, seemed to be sparing himself: " Alberto seems particularly motivated today. I had to train for four hours this morning, so I prefer to let my legs go a little, while I chat with you " commented the British champion on his Ins feedtagram. Chris Froome is in the midst of preparing for what will be his final season as a professional cyclist with the Israel Premier Tech team.

Contador didn't give up until the end, showing that he is still in great shape years after his retirement. The BKOOL platform allowed him to follow his training data in real time and the numbers speak for themselves: he finished with an average power of 327W, with peaks of over 600W and an average speed of 42 km/h, the figures of a very well-prepared cyclist.
Throughout the Group Ride, Alberto continued to sharetagand his motivation with his supporters: " We are in the Giro d'Italia with BKOOL, we are riding in the leading group. 360W, 380W, 400W, 420W… Not bad for our age, right? I will accelerate to catch the wheel of the first!… ».

Beyond the result, the best thing was seeing hundreds of cyclists of different nationalities bytagwalking miles with their idols for years.
BKOOL Marketing Director, Ángel Luis Fernández, said: “The fact that Froome and Contador ride together at BKOOL, that they chat live with each other and that they sharetag"Training with our users is a dream come true. This event is the reward for many years of hard work. It is a historic milestone for virtual cycling."
And it doesn't end there. Giro, Tour and Vuelta champions Alberto Contador and Chris Froome will be followed by Olympic and world champion Remco Evenepoel, who will be riding alongside BKOOL users in just two weeks.
