Built for speed, the XCR range of bikes offers minimal drag, making them among the fastest triathlon and time trial bikes on the market.. The XCR is the result of 36 months of rigorous development, from early 2021 to October 2024, involving 14 prototypes and numerous iterations to refine every aspect of the bike’s performance. Each frame is made from 486 carbon parts, illustrating the precision and attention to detail that has guided every step of its design.

Earlier this year, the UCI XCR Time Trial was launched and has already shone at the highest level, winning gold medals with Ben O'Connor at the UCI World Championships and Bruno Armirail at the French Time Trial Championships. All three models were designed with Swiss Side, with every line and angle of the bike testtested in the laboratory and in the field, ensuring the maximum reduction of air resistance.

Swiss Side, founded in 2014 by Jean-Paul Ballard, former Design Director of the Sauber F1 team, Swiss Side has used its expertise to develop the most innovative aerodynamic wheels and frames on the market. Having conducted tests extensively tested in the wind tunnel in collaboration with time trial specialists from the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team, Bruno Armirail, Clément Berthet and Felix Gall, the XCR has been designed from the ground up so that every aspect of performance is assessed and optimised to deliver an advantagetagand competitive thanks to its aerodynamics.

The XCR TRI Ultegra Di2 frame is made of high modulus carbon fiber, with a weight of 1490g for the frame and 490g for the fork in size M, which allows this bike to meet the demands of high-level cyclists or triathletes. The attention to detail, not only in how the bike cuts through the wind, but also in its responsiveness and feel, makes this bike the ideal tool for going fast over almost any distance and terrain.

Since position on the bike is critical to performance, Van Rysel, in his quest for the ultimate time trial and triathlon bikes, understood that adaptability is crucial to achieve the perfect position. With this in mind, the new XCR TRI Ultegra Di2 and XCR TRI Rival AXS models feature a Van Rysel cockpit that allows for a multitude of adjustments, so that each cyclist can maximize their efficiency and comfort. For its part, the XCR UCI features Deda Jet One extensions, allowing athletes to adopt the best possible position while respecting UCI regulations.

Two-time European Ironman Champion Denis Chevrot also played a key role in the development of the XCR TRI, ensuring the bike meets all the needs of an Ironman athlete.. A major feature of the XCR TRI Ultegra Di2 is the toolbox which contains a multi-tool, inner tube and tyre levers, for any mechanical problems on the route. Additionally, a Bento box and a waste box have been attached to the top tube, allowing the athlete to store all the nutrition needed for up to 6 hours of riding and dispose of any waste, while remaining in an aerodynamic position.

Finally, when it comes to hydration, bottles can be attached both to the cockpit and behind the saddle without impacting the overall aerodynamics of the bike and ensuring that the athlete is well equipped and comfortable, while remaining as aerodynamic as possible.

  1. Nice bike! But is it just me or are the prices at Decathlon starting to soar? 7700 euros for Ultegra, that's starting to get a bit much.
