As usual, this event which crosses France diagonally will offer the riders and followers a rise in difficulty, embellished in the middle by an individual time trial run by teams in the Nièvre. The arrival at the summit of the Loge des Gardes in the middle of the week will also be a highlight of the race.
The general classification should be decided during the final weekend, during a stage of mytagtowards the Auron station, then around Nice for the last stage. The sprinters and punchers will also have roles to play in this eight-act performance, both for some finishes and for the edges that often shake up the race.
