South Burgundy Gravel & Cyclo – 40 days before departure

The South Burgundy | Gravel & Cyclo will be held on April 26 and 27, 2025, in Viré, marking the opening of the Cyclo'Tour Classified and the Gravel'Tour Cannondale as part of the Cycling Challenge. This event, which will take place in 40 days, invites participants to explore the Massif Sud Bourgogne, its vineyards, and its landscapes, while inaugurating the season with the first race numbers.

Considered a notable early-season event, the South Burgundy race offers gravel and cycling courses suited to this spring period. Around 1 participants are expected to ride these demanding yet accessible routes, ideal for getting back into training.

Flexible formula

The weekend is organized over one or two days, offering a flexible formula for all levels and objectives.

On Saturday morning, two cycle touring hikes on route (51 km with 700 m D+ and 84 km with 1 m D+) open the event. The afternoon is dedicated to gravel with two courses (400 km with 42 m D+ and 950 km with 62 m D+), available in timed or hiking versions.

On Sunday morning, cyclists can choose between three options: 51 km with 700 m D+ (hiking), 84 km with 1 m D+ (timed or hiking) and 400 km with 122 m D+ (timed).

New routes include climbs such as the Col des Chèvres, the Col de la Percée, the Col de Brançion and the Col de la Croix.

Demanding routes

Although less technical than a step of mytagThese routes require constant effort. Participants will pass through renowned vineyards and typical Romanesque villages of southern Burgundy.

The local terroir is showcased with refreshments offered Sunday morning along the 51 km route at the Cave de Lugny, in collaboration with local winemakers and producers. Each participant will also receive a bottle of Mâcon Village from Maison Vérizet.
