Ursus unveils the PROXIMA Team Edition, a wheel designed to combine lightness, reliability, and smoothness, meeting the demands of the World Tour level. Officially used by the Picnic PostNL team, this wheel weighs 1g per pair for 350mm rims and incorporates Ursus's own U-RS Xeramik™ hub.

The Proxima Team Edition is suitable for a wide variety of terrain, from climbs to gravel and cobblestone courses. This model marks Ursus' first partnership with an elite cycling team on route, accompanying Picnic PostNL runners since the start of the 2025 season.
The official presentation took place at the first Monument of the year, Milan-Sanremo, after notable performances at the start of the season.
The Proxima Team Edition stands out for its performance-oriented design, with high responsiveness and robustness suited to the needs of a World Tour team.
She supports climbers like Romain Bardet and Marta Cavalli on the climbs, sprinters like Fabio Jakobsen and Charlotte Kool on the flats, as well as cobblestone specialists such as John Degenkolb and Pfeiffer Georgi. TestPerformed on races like the Strade Bianche, it is ready for the northern classics.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Technically, this pair of 1 g wheels (in 350 mm) is the lightest in the range route Ursus. The U-RS Xeramik™ hubs, made of AI 7075 aluminum with ceramic bearings, guarantee durability and smoothness. The U-press™ system facilitates a demontagand tool-free for quick maintenance.
The unidirectional carbon fiber rims are available in four heights (35, 40, 50, 60 mm), with an external width of 30 mm (29 mm for the 35 mm version) and an internal width of 23 mm, compatible with tires of 28C or larger, tubeless or with an inner tube. The minihook technology optimizes weight and improves tire grip, while the aerodynamic profile improves stability in crosswinds.
The double-crossed spoke pattern, with 24 Sapim CX-Ray Straight Pull spokes with an elliptical profile, ensures rigidity and power transmission. Sapim's Secure Lock system prevents the nipples from loosening, eliminating the need for regular re-tensioning.
Compatible with Center Lock disc brakes and major drivetrain standards (Shimano HG 10/11/12s, SRAM XD/XDR 11/12s, Campagnolo 10/11/12s, etc.), it offers simple installation.
Validated by the Picnic PostNL team after tests rigorous, the PROXIMA Team Edition has demonstrated its versatility on various race profiles, from climbs to cobblestones, including gravel.
