New Ekoï PW8 pedal: the revolution, after 40 years!

Since the introduction of clipless pedals forty years ago, cycling has not seen any significant technological advancements in the field. Today, Ekoï introduces a new pedal-shoe concept with the PW8, developed to optimize efficiency, lightness, aerodynamics, and comfort. Distributed worldwide by the French company Ekoï, this product is the result of more than four years of research and two years of tests made by professional and amateur cyclists.

The PW8 pedal is distinguished by an axis/sole distance reduced to 8 mm and a support surface of 1500 mm² (compared to 705 mm² for a commonly used pedal), promoting increased power transfer and a reduction in dead spots when pedaling.

Reduced weight

In terms of weight, the cleats are 15g per pair, each pedal weighs 105 g, for a total of 225 g (pedals and cleats included).

On the aerodynamic side, testWind tunnel tests have demonstrated a drag reduction of 11% according to the brand.

The pedal also offers easy adjustment with four angle options and vertical or lateral adjustment. Combined with Michelin cleats, the shoe guarantees a comfortable walk and good grip.

The system incorporates recessed cleats for a natural gait, with customization options: two angles per cleat (0°-1,5° or 3°-6°) and precise adjustment. The smooth rotation of the pedal facilitates rapid activation of the pull phase, especially at dead points.

Cycling figures such as Philippe Gilbert, Nicolas Roche, Claudio Chiappucci and Michele Bartoli have contributed to its development, highlighting its advantages.tagin terms of performance and comfort.

Designed and manufactured in France, the PW8 pedal (Power and 8 mm) is optimized to work with the PW8 C12 Pro Full Carbon shoe, a high-end leather model produced in Italy.
