The free ICI Toilettes app, developed by the Nantes-based startup Urban Services, makes travel easier for travelers, especially cyclists, hikers, and tourists. With over 100 downloads and 000 connections, it allows users to quickly geolocate public or partner toilets (cafés, bars, campsites) along their route, based on cleanliness, accessibility, and inclusion criteria.
Particularly suited to the needs of cyclists during hikes, the application has been adopted by La Vélodyssée, the 1 km cycle route linking Roscoff to Hendaye. Nearly 300 toilets are now listed, including those of partners such as businesses, which are covered and equipped with hygiene kits.
A new version of the app, launched in 2025 after three months of development, improves the user experience with features such as offline access to map data, rapid refocusing, and the ability to report new points of interest. These developments aim to anticipate traveler needs and enrich the database through community input.
ICI Toilettes has established itself as a practical tool for the 27 million hikers and 22 million cyclists in France, as well as for tourists exploring cities and seaside resorts. By partnering with tourism stakeholders, the app aims to become a must-have for traveling, while promoting inclusion and comfort for all.
