The 2025 Giro starts on Friday, May 9 and ends on Sunday, May 1er June. On the program: 3 km to cover (443 m of elevation gain), 52 stages including 350 time trials (21nd and 2th stages) for a total of 2 km. For the first time in its history, the Giro will start in Albania (Durazzo) where the first three stages will take place. After a visit to Slovenia and two first weeks of racing that will undoubtedly bring many twists and turns, including the 10th stage between Gubbio and Siena which will include 42,3 km of white roads and the 9th stage with the ascent of Alpe San Pelligrino, it is during the last week that the race will most certainly be decided. Four stages that promise to be very difficult, with summit finishes in San Valentino (stage 30), Bormio (stage 11), Champoluc (stage 16), and Sestriere (the day before the final finish) after climbing the Colle delle Finestre (17 m, including part of the climb on a stony path). The succession of Tadej Pogacar is open. After a fabulous classics campaign, the Slovenian is resting, obviously to prepare for the next Tour de France.
