From September 26 to 28, 2025, the Gravel Fever festival returns to Grand Châtellerault (Vienne) for a third edition, following two successful events in 2023 and 2024. This year, the event will host the first-ever French Gravel Championships, organized by the French Cycling Federation (FFC). Registration is now open.
The French Gravel Championships: a historic first
For the first time, the French Gravel Championships will be held as part of Gravel Fever. Open to a wide audience, these championships include FFC members and non-members, men and women, from the U17 category to ages 70 and over.
A total of 22 French Champion titles will be awarded. The competitions will take place on different courses, adapted to age categories and levels.
Gravel Fever: routes for all audiences
Gravel Fever maintains its inclusive spirit with options for all participants, whether they are competitors or amateurs. Six untimed gravel routes will be offered (50 km, 80 km duo, 120 km, 150 km, 200 km and 500 km), as well as a free 25 km family ride, called Gravel Fever Free. The latter, accessible to all types of bikes and all levels, will feature musical, gastronomic and heritage events to promote the Grand Châtellerault region.
New for the 2025 edition: an untimed 200 km course is making its appearance, offering a new option for long-distance enthusiasts.
A festive and friendly weekend
Throughout the weekend, participants and visitors will be able to enjoy various activities: a space foodtrucks, a friendly after-race, free cycling activities and an exhibitor village. Twenty players from the cycling sector will be present on Saturday and Sunday to present their products and innovations.
Refreshments will be organized in several towns crossed, such as Scorbé-Clairvaux, Lencloître, Colombiers, Dissay, Saint-Gervais-les-Trois-Clochers, Les Ormes, Oyré, La Roche-Posay, Angles-sur-l'Anglin and Thuré, offering participants moments of rest in a warm atmosphere.

An event supported by partners and local stakeholders
Gravel Fever and the French Championships are organized by France Vélo Événements, in partnership with the FFC. The courses were designed by Sylvain Chavanel, a former professional cyclist from Châtellerault, who uses his knowledge of the region to create routes suited to gravel riding.
Event partners include Grand Châtellerault, the City of Châtellerault, the Vienne Department, Alltricks, Matchy and Škoda for Gravel Fever, as well as CIC and Alé for the French Championships.
Michel Callot, president of the FFC, declared: “ The FFC is delighted to organize the first French Gravel Championship during Gravel Fever. Grand Châtellerault has demonstrated its potential in this discipline, and the event will combine competition and a friendly atmosphere for all audiences. »
Jean-Pierre Abelin, president of the Grand Châtellerault urban community and mayor of Châtellerault, added: " Hosting the first French Gravel Championships is a source of pride. Cycling has been part of our history for over two centuries, and Gravel Fever helps promote our region while promoting the values of cycling. »
