Test Adidas SP0108 sunglasses for stylish riding

A few months ago, we had the pleasure – and the keen eye – of testThe Dunamis Pro and Anemos models from Adidas Sport Eyewear. Two pairs that had seriously shaken up our habits, we who thought that there was no salvation outside of the sacrosanct Oakleys. Today, we put our bib back on for a new test field with a pair with a more radical look: the SP0108, in matte black with purple gradient lenses. Between assertive style, 100% sport DNA and solid comfort, here is our feedback on this impressive frame.

A design that sets the tone (gradient purple, in this case)

At first glance, the SP0108s are impressive.. With their shape Shield Very enveloping, they openly flirt with the aesthetic of ski goggles or 200m sprinters – those that we don't just wear to look fast, but because we really are (or at least we believe we are).

The matte black color adds a sober and elegant touch, while the purple gradient lenses break the monotony with real personality. The kind of pair you notice at the start of an outing, and even more so at the finish when everyone is squinting except you. The visual compromise is well thought out: chic, aggressive but not too much, with a little retro-futuristic nod to the Blade Runner on two wheels.

A killer detail: even the temples have character. Adidas leaves nothing to chance, even where the eye might not expect.

Comfort: a pleasant surprise

When you put them on, the mask effect might make you think the pair is a bit heavy or bulky. Wrong. The SP0108 are light (around 30g on the scale), well balanced, and hold perfectly in place. Even during rough rides, between dancing descents and violent relaunches, the frame doesn't budge an inch. The nose pads play their role discreetly but effectively, and the well-ventilated arms prevent overheating around the temples – which is always a good thing in the middle of May.

The ventilation system integrated into the frame is one of the model's strong points. The side and front vents do their job well: fogging almost never had time to set in, even during a slow climb in damp undergrowth (the kind of terrain where usually the only solution is to blow into your glasses like an angry flute player).

Face to face with style. We promise, it's not just a look: it's a vision.

Clear vision, solid protection

The gradient polycarbonate glass provides very good terrain readabilityThe purple tint is not just an aesthetic choice: it improves contrast and allows details of the route, especially on mixed sections of gravel, shade and light. In short, your trajectories gain in precision, and your eyes in comfort.

The curvature of the glass provides a wider field of vision, without any peripheral distortion. And for cyclists who ride in a group (or who like to scrutinize their Strava segments while climbing), it's a real plus. UV protection is of course there, and you can tell that the product was designed for sports use above all else. No glare, no eye fatigue after three hours of riding.

"Between dog and wolf", we bet on the mount that never loses its bearings.

Test terrain: the SP0108 facing the asphalt (and some muddy paths)

We have testand the SP0108 in various contexts: route, gravel, and even a bit of mountain biking. Verdict? They fit perfectly. Thanks to their stable fit and wide field of vision, they are very reassuring on fast descents, and quite comfortable even on long rides of 4 hours+.

They also resisted the fine rain of Val-d'Oise (yes, even in May, we're still in Île-de-France) without slipping or fogging up.. And while they may not be as radical in design as the Dunamis Pro or as transformable as the Anemos, they deliver solid, consistent performance. All-terrain goggles, in the truest sense of the word.

Clear view, mud accepted: the SP0108s are serious... even when it's rough.

Adidas, between heirstagand modernity

We had already highlighted this in our previous tests: Adidas has never been just a figurehead in the peloton. Behind the legendary names of Klöden, Zabel, and Ulrich, there's a true tradition of innovation in the service of performance. Today's Eyewear range extends this ambition with modern design, cutting-edge technology, and a true understanding of cyclists' expectations.

The SP0108 doesn't try to tick all the gimmick boxes. It focuses on the essentials: protection, ventilation, and durability. And with impeccable finishing, a strong design and a price often more affordable than some of its highly publicized competitors, it could well appeal to those who want to drive differently – but not half-heartedly.

Style, comfort, vision: you ride quietly, but with class.

In summary: a mask for real people

If you're looking for a pair of high-performance, stylish, comfortable glasses that are ready to take on all your outings, the SP0108 clearly deserves a place in your arsenal.Less extreme than the Dunamis Pro, more assertive than the Anemos, it fills an intermediate space between pure performance and versatile use.

All in all, a really good choice for demanding cyclists who want to keep their style... without getting caught in the spokes.
