Following the resounding success of its first edition in 2024, the Gran Fondo Les Sybelles La Toussuire returns for a new cycling adventure in the heart of the Alps. Faced with a municipality's refusal to allow passage on last year's routes, the organizers have redesigned the courses to offer the 600 expected participants an even more spectacular experience. Here's everything you need to know about this unmissable event!
Sunday July 13: The Climb of La Toussuire
To kick off the weekend in style, cyclists will set off from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, starting at the Opinel roundabout, for a legendary climb. With 14,8 km and 1 m of elevation gain, the Grimpée de La Toussuire promises an intense warm-up in a magnificent setting.
Monday, July 14: three courses for all levels
On National Day, it's time for festivities with three routes to choose from, in timed or hiking format:
Short route (52 km, 1 m D+) : Ideal for hikers, this spectacular trail includes the famous Lacets de Montvernier and the Montée de La Toussuire. Accessible, but breathtaking!
Medium route (98 km, 1 m D+) : perfect for those who love a challenge, this circuit combines the Lacets de Montvernier, a trip into the valley and the Montée de La Toussuire.
Long route (128 km, 2 m D+) : reserved for experienced cyclists, this route worthy of a stage of mytaglinks the Lacets de Montvernier, the Montée Opinel, the Col du Mollard and the Montée de La Toussuire. A demanding challenge, but enhanced by breathtaking landscapes.
In 2025, the Gran Fondo Les Sybelles La Toussuire will also be the third round of the Cyclo'Tour Classified, a national challenge bringing together six of the most beautiful cyclosportives in France.
Cyclo Week: an extended cycling experience from July 15 to 18
To extend the fun, the La Toussuire Tourist Office offers Cyclo Week, a unique immersion in the world of cycling. From July 15th to 18th, explore legendary passes like the Galibier, Croix de Fer, and Madeleine, as well as lesser-known routes, led by qualified guides and local cyclists.
Every day, enjoy a complimentary welcome coffee in the valley and refreshments at the summit. A variety of activities are also planned for accompanying adults, ensuring a memorable experience for the whole family.
