MyWhoosh and the UCI celebrate World Bicycle Day 2025

A virtual world cycling festival

To mark World Bicycle Day, the International Cycling Union (UCI) is partnering with MyWhoosh to organize a 24-hour global celebration on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. This initiative invites cyclists of all levels to connect on the MyWhoosh platform and pedal virtually in tribute to cycling, a sport that unites enthusiasts around the world.

24 hours, 6 routes, a unique celebration

From 00:00 to 23:59 UTC, the World Bicycle Day Ride event will feature virtual rides on six diverse routes inspired by iconic locations. Each hour, a new ride will begin on one of the routes, and each route will be available four times over the course of 24 hours. This means cyclists from around the world can participate at a time that suits them, regardless of their time zone.

Here are the six courses on the program:

Hudayriat Octopus Loop (Hudayriat): 28 km, 40 m elevation gain
City Loop (Australia): 25,7 km, 256 m elevation gain
Route coffee (Colombia): 27,8 km, 98 m elevation gain
The 7 Jewels (Arabia): 32,8 km, 206 m elevation gain
Kluisbergen (Belgium): 24 km, 138 m elevation gain
Hikari Hills (Japan): 19,1 km, 251 m elevation gain

The event will begin at midnight UTC with the Hudayriat Octopus Loop, before moving on to a new route every hour.

How to join the event?

Participating is easy and free! No registration is required. On June 3, go to the Events section of the MyWhoosh app, select World Bicycle Day Ride, and choose one of the 24 time slots between 00:00 AM and 23:59 PM UTC.

Open to all, regardless of skill level or experience, this event will celebrate inclusivity. Participants will wear a special World Bicycle Day virtual jersey, and each course will be enhanced with visuals celebrating the day. For an optimal experience, MyWhoosh's MyShift virtual gear system will be activated, ensuring a smooth pedaling experience.
