BikingMan Alpes-Maritimes 2025: from June 22 to 29

Ultracycling returns to the Alpes-Maritimes for the 5th edition of BikingMan, the first world championship of ultracycling races, created by cycling explorer Axel Carion. From June 22 to 29, 2025, cyclists will tackle demanding courses in complete autonomy, between the Mediterranean Sea and Alpine peaks, in more than 115 towns and villages on the Côte d'Azur. With Valberg as its base camp, nestled in the heart of the Southern Alps, the event promises a unique adventure, combining performance, endurance, and spectacular landscapes.

Two epic routes: route and gravel

Parcours Show route : June 22 to 27
Distance: 1 km
Elevation gain: +22 m
Passes: 52, including the legendary Col de la Bonette (2 m, the roof of cycling in Europe), Turini, Saint-Martin and Sinne.
Maximum time: 120 hours

This spectacular route crosses the Southern Alps, featuring legendary climbs from the Tour de France. Participants will experience a total immersion in Alpine and Mediterranean panoramas, pushing their physical and mental limits.

Gravel course: June 27 to 29
Distance: 500 km
Elevation gain: +12 m
Passes: 26
Maximum time: 60 hours

This route explores the most beautiful gravel trails in the Alpes-Maritimes, rehabilitated for soft mobility and cycle tourism. Following ancient strategic routes, it offers a unique adventure in the heart of a region rich in natural heritage.

Valberg: the beating heart of the event

Located 80 km from Nice, the Valberg resort will host the race village, open to the public on June 21 and 22, 2025:

Saturday, June 21: 10:00 a.m. – 19:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 22: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Visitors will be able to meet the ultracyclists, discover their equipment, and explore the stands of partners, including EKOÏ, a leader in cycling equipment, and Go LUM, a French headlamp manufacturer. Cycling enthusiasts will also be able to tackle the iconic climbs (Cayolle, Couillole, Valberg) or explore the majestic Cians and Daluis gorges.
