New Strava interface for the activity recording tool

Strava, the sports app, has unveiled a revamped version of its recording interface, designed to simplify and enhance performance tracking on mobile. Available from July 16, 2025, this update aims to offer a more intuitive experience for users.

Based on data from the Year in Sports Trend Report 2024, which indicates that nearly 75% of users record their activities via the mobile application, this redesign incorporates optimized features.

Among the new features:

  • Improved navigation: Thanks to an updated Map Rendering Engine (MRE), maps offer detailed display and smooth navigation.
  • Segment Tracking: Subscribers can track their performance on Live Segments in real-time.
  • Simultaneous display: statistics and the map are now visible on a single screen, even when moving.
  • Real-time paces: splits are displayed live for accurate tracking of distances covered.
  • Live Laps: An upcoming feature will allow you to mark laps at custom intervals to analyze your performance.

Subscribers also benefit from advanced options, such as 3D maps, winter map styles, or heatmaps.

The update is available now on Android and will roll out to iOS in the coming weeks.
