AFU Mont Ventoux 2025 Hike: Cycle for Men's Health

On August 30, 2025, the French Association of Urology (AFU) is organizing the 4th edition of the Mont Ventoux climb, a sporting and solidarity event sponsored by the Ministries of Health and Sports. With Bernard Hinault as its patron, this hike brings together approximately 600 participants, including healthcare professionals, patients, and enthusiasts, to promote men's health and the benefits of sport.

An event to raise awareness and mobilize

Under the slogan Let's ride together for human health ", the AFU aims to:

  • Raise awareness of male pathologies: prostate cancer (50 new cases/year), erectile dysfunction (000 million men in Europe), infertility (20 in 1 couples), and breast cancer. testicules (18-45 years old).
  • Promote appropriate physical activity to reduce the risks of overweight, diabetes, hypertension and cancer.
  • Support research through the Urology Innovation Fund (FIU), financed by registrations and donations.

A challenge accessible to all

Departure from Bédoin (84) with two suitable routes:

  • Short route (74 km, 1 m D+): ideal for amateurs, accessible to muscle and electric bikes, via the Gorges de la Nesque and the ascent via Sault.
  • Long route (98 km, 2 m D+): reserved for muscle bikes, with a demanding final climb of 130 km (6% over the last 10 km).

Open to all, the event welcomes men, women, experienced cyclists and beginners, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

A public health campaign

Supported by the government, this initiative is expanding with international delegations (Switzerland, Germany, and the United Kingdom) and a partnership with Odysséa, committed to fighting breast cancer. This partnership strengthens the mobilization for global health through sport.

Before the effort: awareness

On August 29 at 16 p.m., a scientific meeting open to the public will be held at the VTF Les Florans Village in Bédoin. Led by Professor Alexandre de la Taille and Bernard Hinault, it will address the impact of sport on men's and women's health, with presentations from experts on cancer, aging, and the perineum.
