Trail running legend Kilian Jornet has started his new challenge, States of Elevation, an adventure combining cycling and hiking to independently connect the peaks over 4,267 meters in the United States. Trek accompanies him on this adventure.
Over the course of 16 days, Jornet explored Colorado's challenging terrain, combining biking and hiking to climb all 56 of the state's public peaks over 4,000 meters. The journey included iconic routes like the LA Freeway, the Elks, and Nolan's 14, as well as iconic peaks like Mount Elbert and Pikes Peak.
Facing storms, strong winds, and technical terrain, Jornet pushed his physical and technical limits, both on foot and by bike. To support him, Trek provided two custom-built bikes: the Checkpoint, designed for the toughest gravel trails, and the Madone, optimized for long routes asphalt. Each bike, with a unique paint job and SRAM components, has been designed to meet the demands of this adventure.
States of Elevation stands out for its sustainable and innovative approach, perfectly aligned with Trek's values, which advocate respect for nature and the spirit of adventure cycling.
Building on this successful first leg in Colorado, Jornet is preparing to continue his journey through other states, still independently, in what promises to be one of the most daring adventures of his career.
