Hugo Drechou and Axelle Dubau-Prévot crowned at the first French gravel championships

This weekend, Châtellerault vibrated to the rhythm of the Gravel Fever Festival, host of the very first FFC French Gravel Championships. On demanding courses designed in collaboration with Sylvain Chavanel, combining routes, white paths and Singles, this historic edition brought together young talents and experienced riders, including former World Tour professionals.

A memorable inaugural show

On Saturday, the U17 and U19 categories kicked off the festivities with 50 and 80 km races. On Sunday, the Masters and Elite events captivated the crowds with dense pelotons and longer courses, up to 154 km for the men's premier event.

Men's Elite (154 km)
After 4h06'12, Hugo Drechou won and became the first French Elite gravel champion. He narrowly beat Romain Bardet, a former World Tour climber. reconbrilliantly. Victor Papon (+54'') completes the podium, resisting the return of Quentin Pacher (4th).

Women's Elite (120 km)
Axelle Dubau-Prévot dominated the women's event, winning the first Elite Women's title with style in 3:51:11. A notable highlight: her partner Hugo Drechou, also crowned in the men's race, helped the pair make history. Célia Le Mouel (+5:45) and Constance Valentin (+6:19) completed the podium.

U17 Men (50 km)
Louis Ledoux made history as the first French U17 gravel champion, winning in 1h45'52 ahead of Owen Delaunay (+33'') and Simon Billet (+34'').

U19 Women (80 km)
In a thrilling finale, Anaïs Rouanet held off Mathilde Tritz (+1'40) in the final 200 meters to take the title. Rose Guihard (+19'33'') took third place.

Arthur Alexandre showed his power to win the U19 title in the sprint, ahead of Mattei Cacaulit (+0'10) and Eli Cron (+3'80).
