La Route Mont Blanc 2026: a historic cycling event in the heart of the Cotentin

A unique event on September 12 and 13, 2026: immerse yourself in the heart of the Cotentin Bay and the D-Day landing beaches for a unique cycling adventure, combining sport, history and breathtaking landscapes.

A new challenge steeped in history and escape

La Route Mont Blanc will be available to discover in 2026 with a special edition dedicated to routeemblematic of the Manche region. The start will be given in Saint-Mère-Église, the first village liberated during the 1944 landings, immortalized by the American paratrooper John Steele hanging from the church steeple.

This is not just a race: it's a sporting, cultural and memorial journey. Travel through the authentic landscapes of the Cotentin – from Pont l'Abbé to Montebourg, Valognes and Saint-Pierre-Église – before following the wild coast towards Cosqueville, where the sea and cliffs set the pace for your efforts.

Continue towards picturesque seaside villages like Gatteville, Barfleur, Landemer and Quettehou, bathed in the unique light of the English Channel. As you approach the hamlet of Les Cruttes, drive closer to history: the D-Day landing beaches (Utah Beach, Carentan, Brucheville…) dot the route, paying tribute to the soldiers who liberated Europe. Between effort and memories, come and write your own page of adventure on these routeemotionally charged"

Choose your challenge from four distances suitable for all levels (from 30 to 150 km):

  • Hike: 34 km / 120 m elevation gain
  • Short: 77 km / 390 m elevation gain
  • Average: 112 km / 725 m elevation gain
  • Grand: 146 km / 1000 m D+

E-bikes are permitted on all routes except the Grand. Participation is open to those aged 14 and over for the Rando, and 16 and over for the Petit and Moyen.
