RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA (RACA) is taking things to the next level! In 2026, the GRAVEL ULTRA category expands with four new ultra-distance routes specifically designed for gravel riding. Adventure, unspoiled nature, and an epic sporting challenge: welcome to one of the most beautiful gravel crossings in Europe.
Two flagship events, ten distances in total (route + gravel), and still the unique ADVENTURE / RACE double time limit system which allows everyone – whether a leisurely explorer or a fierce competitor – to experience the adventure at their own pace.
RACA GRAVEL ULTRA 2026 – The four routes
RACA NORTH-SOUTH | June 18–20, 2026 | Start & Finish: Linz (Upper Austria)
- GRAVEL ULTRA 300: 300 km | 5,000 m elevation gain | 33 h / 27 h. To the northernmost point of Austria and back. 70% pure gravel, 30% asphalt… with the infamous “Mühlviertel pothole guarantee”!
- GRAVEL ULTRA 500: 500 km | 8,000 m elevation gain | 63 h / 52 h. Crossing the geographical center of Austria and the Salzkammergut region. 40% fast gravel, 60% asphalt. Perfect for pushing your limits!
RACA EAST-WEST | August 25–29, 2026
- GRAVEL ULTRA 350: 350 km | 8,800 m elevation gain | 40 h / 30 h. From Gerlos (Zillertal) to Feldkirch. 50/50 gravel/asphalt. Tyrol and Vorarlberg in their wildest glory.
- GRAVEL ULTRA 850 – The Monster: 850 km | 16,000 m D+ | 112 h / 88 h. From the easternmost point (Nickelsdorf) to Feldkirch, through six German states. 40% gravel, 60% asphalt. The ultimate Austrian gravel challenge.
Two events, one mindset: pushing the limits
With this GRAVEL ULTRA extension, the RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA 2026 becomes one of the must-attend events for the global gravel community. Whether you're aiming for 300 or 850 km, each route is an ode to unsupported adventure, endurance, and the pure bikepacking spirit.
And meanwhile, the trials route Classic distances (300 to 1000 km) remain on the program. The highlight in 2026: during the RACA East-West, the legendary RACA1000 will host the World Ultracycling Association (WUCA) European Championship for Unsupported Ultra-Cycling.
The world's ultra stars will be there… and you can cross the finish line alongside them, on a gravel bike or… route !
